Ignatian Weekly Retreat for Busy People

Ignatian Retreat for Busy People

Join us in this spiritually invigorating 34-week Ignatian Spirituality Retreat specifically designed for busy people. Experience your relationship with God coming alive in the midst of everyday life and discover a freedom and peace too often out of reach in the modern world. This can be a self-directed online retreat or you can choose to meet with others to enrich your experience in a supportive group setting to share your insights gained each week.

The Retreat begins with an in-person orientation on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, 5:30 - 6:30pm in the Newman Center Community Room.

Each Sunday thereafter, you will be provided with an online link to the week's retreat materials. This information will include a Guide for the Journey, Brief Readings and Prayers, and Practical Help (it takes only 10 - 20 minutes to read or listen to the weekly materials).

The intent is for you to read or listen to the weekly material which creates in you a backdrop of themes, reflections, questions, and desires as a background focus in the midst of your daily life. The Guide will help you with suggestions for prayer throughout the week, for identifying what it is you desire from God, and some ways to let yourself be open to receiving those graces. The most important thing to remember is that God doesn't need much of an opening to bless you richly.

You will learn to find greater focus and to let one week build upon another. It really works. Any busy person can do this retreat in the background of a very full life.  And, BEST OF ALL, you'll be doing this in the midst of your busy everyday life - in fact, this retreat will help your daily life have more meaning.

The materials will be available online or will be provided in hard copies if you prefer. You will have the opportunity to meet weekly as a group on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:30pm to share your reflections on the week's materials and how God is present and acting in the ordinary moments of your life. These weekly gatherings will enrich your spiritual journey as we travel together in faith to transform our lives to conform more fully with that of Christ Jesus.

The retreat will incorporate St. Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises and correspond with the Church's Liturgical Year's scripture readings and themes. This retreat format was created by the Collaborative Ministry Office at Creighton University and is part of the Online Ministries website: www.creighton.edu/CollaborativeMinistry/onlie.html.

Retreat Fee: A $20 materials fee is requested, but is not required, if you wish to receive printed copies of the retreat materials.

“Few souls understand what God would accomplish in them if they were to abandon themselves unreservedly to Him, and if they were to allow His grace to mold them accordingly.”   St. Ignatius of Loyola
